A tapestry picture of Reaseheath Hall made to commemorate a wedding 18 years ago has been gifted back to college.
The tapestry marked the marriage of Jane Fisher and her then husband in May 1999 at Reaseheath Hall and was the result of months of painstaking work by her mother-in-law, Barbara Ann Fisher. Much admired by visitors, it took pride of place in the family home in Clutton for many years.
But when Jane decided to emigrate to Australia she felt the time was right to return the picture to its original source. She said: “The tapestry has given me a lot of pleasure over many years. It didn’t seem right to take it all the way to Australia, I felt it needed to come home.”
A dog grooming student with us, Jane is looking forward to a possible change of career direction in her new life after 23 years with Lloyds Bank.
The tapestry will go on show in a public location such as the Mercer Room so staff can admire the workmanship.
