A visit to Reaseheath provides a safe and stimulating environment in a wonderful setting. We are committed to enhancing the school curriculum and offer a diverse range of activities for children of all ages.
Our Outdoor Education Centre
Our fully equipped classrooms and cloakrooms can accommodate up to 50 pupils and staff and are situated close to areas where activities will take place.
Although a useful base for the day, the emphasis is very much on learning outside the classroom and using the amazing ‘outdoor classroom’ that is Reaseheath.
The staff at the centre are fully trained. Most are qualified teachers or have either experience as teaching assistants or are CEVAS (Countryside Educational Visits Accreditation Scheme) qualified. All staff are CRB checked.
Linking learning to the curriculum
Individual staff at the College each bring their own expertise into a specialist area, be it farming, horticulture, animal management or countryside activities. This ensures that pupils receive the best learning experiences in addition to the visits being closely linked to the National Curriculum Programmes of study for Key Stages 1, 2 and 3, as well as The Early Years Foundation Curriculum. We work closely with the class teachers prior to the visit to plan a day that is bespoke to each school and puts the learners at the centre of what we do.
We seek to provide pupils with new experiences and to build on or to improve their knowledge of food, farming, animals, plants and the countryside. We have enjoyable activities and a programme of events which can last for any period of time of between one hour and a day.
We hope to provide a springboard for further classroom activities and give schools a follow up pack to build on the learning experience from their day out.
