Amber Hayes and Luke Ikin have been crowned Reaseheath College Maths and English department’s stars of the term. Both Amber and Luke were nominated for demonstrating excellent effort in Maths and English and maintaining 100% attendance.
Amber who’s studying on our Level 3 Certificate in Animal Management course won an iPad and Level 3 Forestry and Arboriculture student Luke was awarded a £50 Amazon voucher. The pair were presented with their prizes by Assistant Principal, Paul Spearritt in front of an audience of proud English and Maths tutors and their course managers.
Every term one student from each Maths and English group are nominated as their ‘star’ – one student for English and another for maths. Students are nominated for a range of positive attributes including excellent attendance, good attitude, exemplary commitment and effort to learn. All nominated students are then placed into a prize draw, with the chance to win an iPad or Amazon voucher.
James Latham, Maths Course Manager said: “Amber has worked with a quiet, determined focus this term, and we have given her this award to recognise that such efforts don’t go unnoticed. Congratulations, Amber, on your attendance, attitude and outstanding progress in maths!”
Jenny Drain, English Course Manager said “Luke is a hardworking student who comes to every lesson ready to work. Whilst he doesn’t always find it easy, he puts all his effort into his writing and is on target to do well in English. Luke is a really pleasant student, and I am delighted that he has won this English award!”
