Cotton Hall is centrally located on campus and is a single sex hall, for under 18-year-old students. It is a two-storey building with separately accessed corridors. All bedrooms are single en suite rooms and each corridor has its own communal kitchen area with seating, a microwave, toaster and kettle. The room has a single bed, desk, chair, drawers and a wardrobe. There is parking to the front of Cotton Hall and fields to the rear of the building. Cotton Hall has 48 bed spaces. Accessible rooms are available.
Reaseheath Hall was built in the 18th Century and is without doubt our oldest Hall of Residence. It is in the heart of the campus, located near to the restaurant, and is a single sex hall. It has single rooms with shared toilets and shower facilities along the corridor close to the rooms. The room has a bed, desk, chair, drawers and a wardrobe, and (if you are lucky) a beautiful view of the lake. Reaseheath Hall has 16 bedrooms in total and has controlled swipe access. There is a small communal kitchen with a microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge.
Tomkinson Hall is centrally located on campus and is a single sex hall for under 18-year-old students. It is a two-storey building with separately accessed corridors. All bedrooms are single en suite rooms and each corridor has its own communal kitchen area with seating, a microwave, toaster and kettle. The room has a single bed, desk, chair, drawers and a wardrobe. There is a small car park to the front of Tomkinson Hall. Tomkinson Hall has 48 bed spaces. Accessible rooms are available.
Chetwood Hall is a large two storey Hall of Residence housing 8 students to each corridor. They are single en suite rooms and have a kitchen and communal space in each corridor with a cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge and freezer. The room has a single bed, desk, chair, drawers and a wardrobe. There is parking to the front of Chetwood and fields to the rear. Chetwood Hall has 96 bed spaces. Accessible rooms are available.
Jodrell Hall is in the heart of campus, close to the restaurant, Residential Services and “The Bar”. Jodrell is a three-storey building with bedrooms housed on the top two floors. It is a single sex hall with single rooms. The room has a bed, washbasin, desk, chair, drawers and a wardrobe. There is a kitchen and communal area along with shared shower facilities on each floor. Jodrell Hall has 27 bedrooms in total and has controlled swipe access. There is a communal kitchen on each floor with a microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge.

Platt Hall is our largest Hall of Residence and is situated near the lake and is set in landscaped gardens. It is a three-storey building with separately accessed corridors that house 8 or 9 students. Each corridor has a kitchen and communal area with a cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge and freezer. The rooms are all single ensuite and have a single bed, desk, chair, drawers and a wardrobe. The front doors and each corridor are entered via controlled access only. There is parking to the front of Platt Hall accessed via a security barrier. Platt Hall has 152 bed spaces and accessible rooms are available.
The Townhouses are centrally located on campus and are made up of 5 accommodation blocks (of which 3 are available to full-time students). Each block comprises 5 or 6 houses that accommodate 8 students in each “house”. The Townhouses are set over three storeys. Each self-catered house has a large kitchen with a cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge and freezer and a communal area with comfy seating and a flat screen TV. The room has a ¾ size bed, desk, chair, drawers and a wardrobe. The rooms have a large shower room shared with 1 other student. The Townhouses are set in a quadrangle and have landscaped gardens in the central area in front of each block. The Townhouses have 140 bed spaces.
The Townhouses are centrally located on campus and are made up of 5 accommodation blocks (of which 3 are available to full-time students). Each block comprises 5 or 6 houses that accommodate 8 students in each “house”. The Townhouses are set over three storeys. Each self-catered house has a large kitchen with a cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge and freezer and a communal area with comfy seating and a flat screen TV. The room has a ¾ size bed, desk, chair, drawers and a wardrobe. The rooms have a large shower room shared with 1 other student. The Townhouses are set in a quadrangle and have landscaped gardens in the central area in front of each block. The Townhouses have 140 bed spaces.

Catering
If you are under the age of 18 you will be placed in catered accommodation. If you are over the age of 18 you are able to choose from catered or self-catered accommodation.
Where to eat
The Catering Team at Reaseheath offer a wide range of food options across the site for our students, staff and visitors. We offer breakfast, lunch and evening meals along with snacks throughout the day.
We can accommodate a variety of diets and food allergies so if you have specific needs, please speak to a member of the team who will give you a form to fill out – we are happy to help. We offer gluten free and vegan options in some of our outlets.
The Main Dining Room
Breakfast: 7.45 – 11am, lunch: 12 – 2pm, dinner: 4.30 – 6.30pm and open in between mealtimes for snacks and drinks.
Breakfast examples: pastries, yogurt, cereal, porridge, fresh fruit, and fully cooked breakfast.
Lunch examples: hearty homemade hot dishes, jacket potatoes, salads boxes and prepacked sandwiches. Vegetarian options always available.
Evening meal examples: hearty homemade hot dishes, jacket potatoes, salads boxes, prepacked sandwiches and homemade dessert of the day. Vegetarian options always available.
Our chefs prepare all dishes with fresh ingredients. Reaseheath produce including Aberdeen Angus or wagyu beef, lamb, butter, cheese, salad, herbs and tomatoes is often used.
The Deli Bar
Monday – Friday, 11am till 2pm
In the main dining room build your own sandwich or salad bowl.
Bootzone
Monday – Friday, 8.30am-3pm
A grab and go breakfast or lunch, you can visit Bootzone wearing overalls and boots without having to change.
Bootzone offers hot pies, sausage rolls, breakfast baps, pizza, toasties, chips, ready-made sandwiches, snacks and ice-cream plus a hot daily special e.g. sausage and mash.
Feast
Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 3pm
Feast is a smaller café offering snacks, fruit smoothies, jacket potatoes, soup, toasties, homemade cakes, traybakes and cookies.
The Hunger Hut
Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 2.30pm
Based at the farm (near Agriculture), The Hunger Hut offers breakfast busters and baps. For lunch you can get a Reaseheath beef burger, loaded fries, hot dogs, hot and cold drinks.
Dining Room at REEA, Harleston Road
Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 3pm
The Dining Room at REEA offers hot and cold drinks and snacks. Full breakfast is served at 10am and lunch (homemade hot dishes, jacket potatoes etc.) is served from 12pm.
The Pizza Bar
Sunday – Thursday, 9-12pm
Offering 9in pizza, garlic bread, wedges and milkshakes
There are also various vending machines across the site offering a variety of snacks and hot drinks.

Cost
All residential students can purchase a five or seven day meal package which offers value for money and allows for planning of cost.
A 5 day package is from Sunday dinner through to Friday lunch:
- Breakfast, tea or coffee included (up to the value of £3.50)
- Lunch (up to the value of £4.50)
- Evening meal (up to the value of £4.50)
Squash and water available with all meals
Total cost is £12.50 a day/£62.50 a week
The 7 day package includes three meals per day Monday – Friday:
On Saturday we offer brunch 11am to 1pm and a ready meal as a takeaway. The ready meal is picked up at brunch time so students can go out and enjoy their day without rushing back for dinner.
On Sunday we offer brunch 11am to 1pm and then a home cooked dinner (Sunday roast) 4.30pm till 6pm.

Student ID cards will be loaded with 3 meal allowance per day to purchase three balanced meals.
As part of our safeguarding provision, we try to ensure that our students are eating a varied diet. We encourage our students to eat 3 meals a day, which can be healthy and balanced.
The meal plan only includes meals. If you wish to purchase items such as canned drinks, speciality coffee or tea, crisps, ice cream, cake, snacks, chocolate and take away containers you would need to load additional money onto your card.

Statement of principles and practice
The college provides accommodation to students who are under the age of 18. The following statements are designed to help prospective students, and their parents, when deciding on the appropriateness of considering residential accommodation:
Statement of Principles and Practice
Accommodation Aim:
“Reaseheath College offers a residential provision, ensuring a safe and secure environment which facilitates academic recruitment and retention, whilst developing learners in their personal, social and life skills.”
- Residential accommodation is offered to those prospective students who, due to distance away from the college, cannot travel on a daily basis or who have specific reasons requiring the need to be accommodated on the campus. A range of accommodation is offered on the campus at varying prices.
- The majority of students needs can be met by the college but facilities are not available to effectively support individuals with significant medical or other needs.
- The college offers around 300 bed spaces in a mix of single for under 18 year old students. All halls of residence are same gender and meet the National Care Standards Commission.
- Students under the age of 18 years of age are accommodated in same gender halls of residence separate from the over 18 years old students who also live on the campus. All under 18 students are accommodated on the main college campus where arrangements are in place to ensure high standards of welfare and safeguarding. Students who are under the age of 18 years of age are expected to follow specific rules which are designed to keep them safe.
- Once a student is offered a place on their course they may apply for residential accommodation from May to start college in the following September. Applications for residential accommodation are reviewed by the Student Services team during July who allocate rooms on the basis of a range of factors which includes potential travel times and specific individual needs. The final allocation of specific rooms is based on a number of factors and in those cases where it is not possible to offer a place in September, the student goes onto a waiting list.
- Once in accommodation students normally remain in allotted Accommodation rules and arrangements are modified once a student reaches the age of 18 or if significant issues arise in their hall of residence. Any requests to change rooms have to be agreed with the Student Services Manager.
- The care and safeguarding of students is maintained through a team of Student Support Officers with cover provided by staff of both genders on a 24 hour 7 days a week bases. The Wellbeing team support students who have non-academic issues whilst at the college. All halls of residence are protected by access control, CCTV and vetted Student Support Officers. Although excellent monitoring arrangements are in place at the college it has to be recognised that a degree of maturity is required from the student to make a success of residential.
- Students are closely monitored whilst on the college campus and arrangements are in place to allow individuals to leave the campus in an evening in a controlled Under 18 year old students in halls of residence are expected to abide by a specific set of rules (available on request) which are issued to students once a place has been offered. Parents are also asked to read the College Residential Agreement and confirm they also understand the rules and are asked to support the college in ensuring under 18 year old students follow rules.
- A multi faith support member of staff is available at the college as is a multi-faith prayer room. The college catering outlets can provide special diets on.
- The college offers evening activities which are organised for Students are actively encouraged to participate in the wide range of activities offered by the college. The residential experience helps a student develop social and interpersonal skills.
