Level 2 Technical Certificate
in Land-based Engineering
This is a course for people who enjoy practical work and, in particular, repairing machines. If you have an ambition to be a practical mechanic and would like to know all there is to know about agricultural machinery, then this course is for you.
The course will appeal to you if you have a particular interest in the maintenance and repair of land-based machinery.
This course is an eligible entry requirement for the T Level in Land-based Engineering.
What will I study?
- Working with spanners, hand and power tools
- Working on a range of machinery
- Working on engines
- Welding and fabrication
- Functional Skills or GCSE in Maths and English depending on previous qualifications
How long will it take?
- 1 year, full-time
What qualifications do I need to start?
- Typically 4 GCSEs at grade 3, including a 2/3 combination in Maths and English.
What qualifications will I gain?
- Level 2 Technical Certificate in Land-Based Engineering
- Functional Skills or GCSE in Maths and English depending on previous qualifications
- You will also have the opportunity to work towards to additional qualifications
