Courses
Student Success
Sarah Harry and Zoe Hall
Job titles: Co-owners of Bramble & Blooms, Tarporley, Cheshire
Previous course: Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Floristry
“We opened our own artisan floristry shop in 2019 while still studying part-time for our Level 3 Diploma at Reaseheath College. We discovered we both wanted to own a floristry shop offering rustic floral designs for weddings and events.
“Our business has flourished beyond all expectations and we’ve already taken on another former floristry student – and others on work placement. Last year we won third in the British Florist Association’s ‘Retail Shop of the Year’ and were invited to join the Good Florist Guide. Both are very prestigious within the industry and are awarded for high standards and excellent designs.
“We both have three children so chose part-time study to fit in with domestic duties. Learning specific business skills, such as how to prepare a wedding contract and consult with clients, were as important as the practical elements and helped us to get to where we are today.”

Industry view
“I love collaborating with the floristry department at Reaseheath and I enjoy sharing my thoughts with students on sustainability and eco-friendly floristry. There’s a growing interest in more natural and sustainable floral design and British flowers are undergoing a renaissance, which is so exciting for the industry.”
