Reaseheath College’s much-anticipated Lambing and Mini Zoo Weekend got off to a fantastic start, welcoming thousands of visitors eager to experience the joys of spring on the farm.

Families and animal lovers alike enjoyed a heartwarming encounter with newborn lambs, with many lucky guests witnessing 65 live births, including twins and even triplets throughout the weekend.

With more than 5,000 visitors enjoying the two days, the event proved to be a huge success, bringing together people of all ages to celebrate the wonders of new life.  The Mini Zoo also delighted guests with a variety of fascinating species, with the new pygmy marmoset, porcupine and otter enclosures proving to be particularly popular.

Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, the Farmers’ Market proved to be a popular attraction, showcasing a fantastic range of local food vendors and artisans. Visitors enjoyed delicious treats food outlets including The Cheshire Pie Company, The Gourmet Brownie Company, Marshmallow and Smore, and Winsbury Dairy, while stalls such Fairytale Lane, Toytastic, and Magenta Handmade Jewellery and Gifts offered unique gift items. Also attending were the college’s RAG (Raising and Giving) charity of the year, Mid-Cheshire Mind, and local conservation group Cheshire Wildlife Trust.

Event organiser Steph Owen said: “It’s been a fantastic weekend, and we’re thrilled to have welcomed so many visitors to share in this special time of year. Seeing the excitement on people’s faces as they watched lambs being born was truly heart warming. There’s still time to be part of the fun next weekend, so if you haven’t been yet, don’t miss out!”

The final Lambing and Mini Zoo Weekend will take place on March 8th and 9th, giving more families the opportunity to meet the animals, learn from Reaseheath’s students and staff, and enjoy a day filled with farmyard fun.
