Double celebration at HOYS

There’ll be a double celebration at the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) this week when we mark the first major activity in our centenary year and also celebrate the 10th anniversary of our partnership with the world’s most famous horse show.

We have again been invited to provide the HOYS arena party and 38 of our equine students will work alongside the international show jumping course designers and also support the dressage Future Elite Championship, the Pony Club Mounted Games, the harness scurry finals and the exciting artistic displays over the full five days of the show.

In addition to this high profile industry experience the students, from main campus and from outreach centres Croft End Equestrian Centre, Oldham, and Burrows Lane, Knowsley, receive unique event management training on health and safety and emergency drills alongside vets and paramedics – a superb addition to their CVs.

Jessica Hassall-Gibson, Equine Curriculum Area Manager, says: “Thanks to our long-established partnership with HOYS, we are able to offer our students real, industry focussed, work experience. They get the unique opportunity to see the action from the front, build great teamworking skills and have an amazing week which they’ll remember for the rest of their lives.”

Jane Warmington, Operations Manager for Grandstand Media, confirms: “We continue to invite Reaseheath College to provide the arena party and other services at HOYS because the quality of the students is really first class. They are polite, upbeat, reliable and work well with our course designers. They play a big part in ensuring that all elements in the Andrew Bowen International Arena and Top Spec Arena run like clockwork, and also support our fundraising efforts.”
