“I chose to study adventure sports because you learn a wide range of skills which are useful whatever you do in life.
“There’s quite a bit of theory work, but you use it in the practical sessions so it all makes sense. The course is assignment based, so very different from school, and everyone is here because they want to do it.
“It’s fun trying different sports like canoeing, white water rafting, hill walking and bushcraft, and I’ve learned to coach different age groups. We’re off to Scotland to learn winter mountain skills too. You work as a team, so you’re learning organisational skills as well as how to build snow holes!”
