Thirteen students from Reaseheath College have been given a ‘student of the term’ award for their hard work and achievements.
The students attended the ceremony, held in the Main Hall at Reaseheath College, with their guests and course tutors to hear about their peers’ achievements. They were presented with their award by principal Marcus Clinton.
Each department nominated one student for their award-winning accomplishments during the last term. The winning students are:
Emma Phillips – Level 3 Bakery diploma
Emma shows great competence in a variety of skills, including pastry making and chocolate tempering – her Easter egg was industry standard. Emma always works hard, and even arrives half an hour before each lesson to prepare.
Kyle Nolan – Level 2 Animal Care diploma (nominated by the Health and Wellbeing Service)
Kyle encourages his peers to access the Wellbeing Service, which helps to destigmatise mental health issues. He was involved in the AoC Beacon Award assessor visit, vocalising how positive his experience of the service has been, impressing the assessors with his honesty and openness.
Lewis Williams – Level 2 Motor Vehicle diploma
Lewis is often the first student to arrive to his lessons and the last to leave. His written and practical work is some of the best that the Motor Vehicle staff have ever seen. He recently demonstrated an in-depth technical understanding in a presentation he delivered to the group.
Jack Dudley – Level 3 extended technical diploma in Forest and Arboriculture
Jack is hard working, dedicated and passionate about forest and arboriculture, and his proactive attitude towards practical tasks is exemplary. Jack stands out as a natural leader and role model within the group.
Chloe Holford – Year 1 Technical Baccalaureate in Animal Management
Chloe has consistently been conscientious throughout her course and always meets deadlines. If Chloe has a problem, Chloe solves it. It’s for this unfailing attitude towards her studies that she has been awarded student of the term.
Jordan Vaughan – Level 1 land-based studies in Animal Care
Jordan gives 100% to all his studies and is very focused on achieving his goal of a career in the animal care industry. He is reliable and can be left to work independently. He can be regularly seen offering support to others in his group when they are struggling.
Lillie Shufflebotham – Level 2 Horse Care diploma
Lillie has undertaken British Horse Society qualifications to further develop her employability skills, and offers her free time to assist with caring for our Reaseheath horses. Lillie recently secured work experience with International Event rider Tyler Cassells and received excellent feedback whilst there.
Dan Richardson – Level 3 extended diploma in Agriculture
Dan was one of the first students on the course to secure a middle year placement for next year, which he did entirely on his own. He has also been active in his local Young Farmers Club, and has taken an active part in the entertainment competition.
Patrick Carter – Level 2 Agriculture diploma (nominated for Maths and English)
Patrick has an infectious enthusiasm, which not only helps him progress throughout the lesson, but also motivates his peers to complete classwork. Patrick has seized every opportunity to develop his Maths skills, by attending extra support and by also taking work home to complete.
Harry Morton – Level 3 extended diploma in Horticulture
Harry has always been dedicated to the subject of green keeping. He helps other students with their work, helps the grounds team, repairs machinery, mows the golf course, and also works for Lancashire cricket ground and Style cricket ground, practicing the skills he has learnt at Reaseheath.
Patrick (Paddy) Vaughan – Level 2 Physical Activity diploma
Paddy supports other learners on his course by offering personal training sessions to develop their fitness and knowledge. Paddy is always eager in lessons, asking questions to broaden his knowledge to support his future clients.
Archie Hampson – Level 1 Carpentry and Joinery
Archie has shown great endeavour in developing his practical skills. He is one of the most polite and conscientious students the department has had. He is currently well on the way to completing his level 1 qualification, and on track to secure his place as a level 2 Site Joiner.
Andrea Holland – FdSc Zoo Management (Year 1)
Andrea is highly motivated and determined to get everything she can out of her Zoo Management course. She attends extra-curricular events and volunteers as an Education Officer at Chester Zoo. She recently arranged for the Chester Zoo education team to visit Reaseheath, to answer questions from our students.
