On Monday 23 April, women in Cheshire are being offered £5 off entry fees for Race for Life 5k, 10k, Pretty Muddy, Half Marathon and Hike events using the code MARA2018.
Cheshire women inspired by the heroic effort of participants at yesterday’s Virgin Money London Marathon (22 April) are being urged to take on their own fitness challenge by entering Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life.
In Cheshire, women of all ages and abilities can take part in Race for Life Pretty Muddy at Reaseheath College on September 15th.
Unlike the Virgin Money London Marathon, women signing up to Race for Life in Cheshire don’t need to train for months or be super fit to take part. Instead, they can participate in the Pretty Muddy, 5k, 10k events at their own pace, either walking, jogging or running their way around the course.
Sarah Hunter, Cancer Research UK’s Reaseheath Event Manager, said: “Many of us watch the Virgin Money London Marathon on TV and feel hugely motivated by the inspiring stories and unwavering determination of the participants. This year, we’re encouraging women to follow the lead of the marathon runners and take on their own fitness challenge by signing up to Race for Life in Cheshire.
“Women of all shapes, sizes, ages and abilities can take part. Whether they’re planning a 5k walk with friends, a 10k jog or the challenge of a half marathon, it’s not about being first to the finish line; it’s about coming together to beat cancer sooner.”
Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life, in partnership with Tesco, is an inspiring women-only series of 5k, 10k, Pretty Muddy, Half Marathon and Hiking events which raise millions of pounds every year to help beat cancer sooner by funding crucial research.
