Foundation Year 0 in Animal Sciences
Year 0 programmes offer an additional preparation year, often referred to as a Foundation Year, that is added on to the start of a degree programme.
The Foundation Year 0 in Animal Sciences programme aims to provide students with the opportunity to gain skills and knowledge needed to progress on to one of the BSc Animal Science programmes at Reaseheath College.
The animal sciences portfolio of degree programmes currently covers Animal Behaviour and Welfare, Canine Training and Behaviour, Wildlife Conservation and Ecology and Zoo Management.
You can either study the Animal Behaviour and Welfare Foundation Year or the Wildlife Conservation and Ecology Foundation Year. Upon successful completion of your chosen route you would progress onto the full degree programme.
Modules include:
- Academic Skills for Animal Sciences
- Data Handling and Analysis
- Practical Skills in Handling and Restraint
- Animal Behaviour, Welfare and Ethics
- Introduction to Animal Biology
- Introduction to Zoology
Modules are delivered through practical work, investigative research and theoretical lectures. Learning is assessed by a combination of assignments including essays, reports, presentations and seminars, along with practical assessment and examinations.
