Doctors, Hospital and Self Care

In your first few weeks you will come across the NHS Self care programme that we offer here at Reaseheath College.
Self Care is all about learning to look after yourself, building resilience.
FE residential students will all become Self Care Champions in the first week as part of the Residential Induction Day. UCR Students will have the offer of this fantastic training as part of your UCR Welcome Week.
Doctors
Our local doctors is Kiltearn Medical Centre. Reaseheath College have a partnership with Kiltearn Medical Centre in Nantwich. You should consider moving your doctor registration to the practice during your time in residence at Reaseheath so that there is no delay in making an appointment for you.
If you are under 18, to make an appointment for the same day, please contact 01270 610200 at 8.00am. If you require assistance, please contact the Duty Safeguarding Officer at 7.30am.
We recommend that if you attend the doctors regularly or have on-going medical needs, we advise that you sign up with Kiltearn Medical Centre. They can usually guarantee a same day appointment for registered patients, if you ring by 8am. However, please be aware that once signed up to Kiltearn Medical there is potential your original doctors will not accept you back.
Please complete a new patient request form and ensure this is returned directly to Kiltearn Medical Centre, Church View Primary Care Centre, off Beam Street, Nantwich, CW5 5NX. Alternatively, this can be completed online at New Patient Registration – Kiltearn Medical Centre.
Hospital
Our local hospital is Leighton Hospital.
Assuming that the hospital is required and not by ambulance, we will provide transport to get you there and back. Similar to doctors for under 18 learners will be stay with you until you either leave, get admitted or a legal guardian arrives.
It is our duty of care to report hospital visits to under 18 learner’s parent/ guardian. For over 18s dependent on the situation, we may need to contact next of kin. Please ensure these details are kept up-to-date.
