Reaseheath has benefitted from T Level funding boost
The new funding includes a new Employer Support Fund – worth up to £12 million over the next two years – to support industry placements, a core part of the T Level qualification. Both students and employers benefit from T Level industry placements; young people gain the industry-specific skills they need to succeed and employers shape their future workforce to meet the needs of their business.
Reaseheath is already a leader at building industry partnerships and our allocation of this funding will help us to further expand our network of supporting businesses. Read more here.

The T Level in Design, Surveying and Planning will be invaluable to the construction and associated industries by providing technical and employability skills for the next generation of students wanted to pursue one of the many careers available within the sector. For Cheshire Surveys being part of the T Level Programme is a great way for us to raise awareness of the career opportunities as a Land Surveyors or Geospatial Engineer whilst also offering our industry expertise and insight to the students to boost their employability and provide encouragement to them as they start their careers in construction”

“We have had a T Level student working with us at the South Cheshire Chamber for just over nine months now. We are so happy with her work that she will be working with us through the summer.
Her primary role is to assist with the Chamber events – most notably our annual business awards – though as she has grown with us, so has her list of responsibilities. In the summer she will be assisting with our quarterly magazine and our social media.
We would recommend the T Level programme to any employer.”
“Balfour Beatty have engaged previously with Reaseheath College as it is based locally to some of our current projects. So we were delighted to be approached to support the new T-level courses with work placements. We currently have placed one student, and they are able to get involved in the work on site and the office, learn about the running of a construction project and can use the learning from the placement in their college work. Due to the longer term nature of the T-level placements, the student can get involved in relevant project work, for example preparing GIS information that is now available to the whole project team.
Work placements are essential to the construction sector, to enable young people to learn more about the varied career options our industry has to offer. Opportunities in the construction sector are varied , from the teams on site do the many technical and support roles available in our offices. Work placement students will have a much better understanding of job roles and career opportunities available to them.
Balfour Beatty sees work placements as a chance to get to now a young person and assist them in finding a future career. We can also support them in their next career steps with Balfour Beatty, enabling us to create a direct pipeline for our future work force. There is an ongoing skills crisis in the construction sector, and Balfour Beatty has a strong commitment to developing our early careers work force to support the long-term success of the business.”
“We are delighted to be a work placement provider for Reaseheath College. We know Reaseheath to be a valuable educational resource in our locality and how successful they are in providing fulfilling opportunities for our young people. Work placement students are well supported by the college and there is always help on hand for us as employers should we need it.
Work placements are extremely important in our sector as it is an opportunity to showcase all of the different roles available within a large manufacturing company such as ours. Although we clearly tailor the placement according to the student’s needs they are also able to develop an awareness of other disciplines within the industry that may be of interest to them.
We enjoy being able to invite a student into our company and to match their skills and passion with the most suitable work area. The student brings their own style of creativity and thinking which is a fresh perspective for us and we encourage them to bring their own innovative ideas to whatever task they are involved in.”
