Level 1 Vocational Studies (Sport)
Students are required to have the following items:
Fitness Clothing
- Reaseheath branded sport kit (this will be confirmed at the start of the academic year with the cost approx. £100 and the link to purchase)

Educational Trips: You may participate in a number of educational trips and other events relevant to your programme of learning. You will be informed by your Course Manager of the cost of these mandatory trips as they are arranged. Payment will be required via the College’s Online Store

This provides any additional health/medical information which was not declared on your original application (the department requires full disclosure of past and present injuries which may present a risk during sport participation). Students who carry medication must indicate these on the form and carry the medication at all times. The form includes an acknowledgement of risk and consent for use of various media formats (ie: video, photographs).
Work Experience
Work Experience is an essential part of your Programme of Learning. All students must complete work experience within industry. Investigate opportunities within the industry as soon as you can.

Residentials/Expeditions
As part of your course, you will participate in expeditions/ residentials as arranged by the Course Manager. The cost of each trip will be communicated to you by your Course Manager and will be payable via the Online Store. The price will vary for each trip and covers food, accommodation (ie: bunkhouses, campsites) and any other associated costs. Students who are eligible can apply for a bursary towards this via Student Finance (studentfinance@reaseheath.ac.uk).

NGB (National Governing Body) Awards
To work in the outdoor industry, you will need NGB memberships and qualifications. It is advantageous to become a member of MT (Mountain Training – www.mountain-training.org) before your course starts. Other memberships which may be needed include Paddle UK (https://paddleuk.org.uk/), British Cycling (www.britishcycling.org.uk), British Mountaineering Council (www.thebmc.co.uk). Throughout the year additional qualifications may be offered to students at a competitive price delivered by our fully qualified instructors or external companies. These may include Lowland Leader, Climbing Wall Assistant, Climbing Wall Instructor Training, Paddle sport Instructor, (MIAS) Mountain Bike Instructor Award Level 2 and ITC 16 Hour Outdoor First Aid. You will be informed of the eligibility criteria and costs of these by your Course Manager.
