“I did think about going to university after A Levels but chose to do a four year
apprenticeship instead. My apprenticeship gave me a greater understanding of business life because I learned practical skills on the job alongside the knowledge required for the engineering activities I carry out. I also did my degree without a student loan!
“Bombardier specialises in servicing and overhauling rolling stock for rail. I spend half of my time at my desk and the rest on our shop floor or visiting customers, suppliers and depots around the UK.
“My Level 2 and 3 Apprenticeships gave me a good practical and theoretical understanding and prepared me for my degree. I am now progressing onto a BEng which will give me an Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Then I’ll be ready for whatever opportunities may arise all over the world!”

“We have enjoyed an excellent relationship with Reaseheath College spanning many years and Reaseheath is A-Plant’s sole provider of training for our Plant Maintenance Apprenticeship. A-Plant is recognised as providing one of the most valued and sought after apprenticeship programmes in the equipment rental industry and Reaseheath has played an absolutely crucial part in helping us achieve this.
“The structure of the apprenticeship programme allows A-Plant apprentices to balance off the job training with in- house training, ensuring they experience real life exposure in the construction industry whilst receiving supported learning. Our apprentices have the opportunity to learn a valuable trade, gain qualifications and take those first steps towards a rewarding career. We’ve had some fantastic results where our apprentices have progressed through the company to managerial positions.”
